study break & ABCs (and then some).

It’s not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is, what are you busy about? —unknown.

Study break? Study break.

Hey, I’m allowed. I went to class this morning, and actually did review some notes this evening, so let me to relax for the rest of the night. So far, the three classes I’ve had this week are: Neurobiology of Learning and Memory, Intro to Behavioural Pharmacology, Attitudes and Persuasion. Coming up later to wrap up my school week, I’ve got Health Psychology and Positive Psychology. I must say, with all the negativity going on, I am pretty excited to take Positive Psych. Teach me your ways, wise one!

Sizzling news…

So a new year obviously will come with new experiences… Who would have thought that one of the first new experiences for me this year would be an egg in a hole?! Seriously. Never have I heard of, or seen one. I was catching up with my girlfriend yesterday after our first class (together) of the semester, and at her place, she offered to make me an egg in a hole. I’m sorry, what? And now I feel silly and sheepish, because it’s apparently a very common simple meal for most people growing up. Maybe it’s a western culture thing? I am from Hong Kong, we had noodles and dumplings, and seafood on sticks, and dimsum… but never did cutting a hole in a slice of good bread, and cooking an egg in it came up in my foodie experiences. This is phenomenal. I mean, it’s so amazing how delicious and satisfying this egg in a hole can be! I think this will be my go-to study break meal, along with my usual study favourite: avocado sushi rolls. Mmm.

Verdict of egg in a hole: Quick, nutritious, and satisfying!

As for tonight, I thought to take advantage of the very start of the semester being less tied up and busy, so I wanted to blog ahead of schedule (this is exciting news)! It’s a study break, and since I have never done a Q&A of sorts, here’s a relaxing, twenty-six ABCs about me.

A– Age: 22 and 10 months.
B– Biggest fear: growing old alone.
C– Current time: 9:36pm
D– Drink you last had: soy milk.
E– Every day starts with: two meowing furballs awaiting to be fed.
F– Favourite song: I enjoy a lot, but currently Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud.
G– Ghosts, are they real?: I don’t know! But Casper is pretty cool.
H– Hometown: Hong Kong.
I– In love with: the Evermore Colourless solitaire ring with shoulder diamonds I bought for myself*
J– Jealous of: my cats (some days, I wish I could nap and eat all day).
K– Killed someone?: The old me’s that I have grown to dislike and decided to live without (I’m being philosophical; I have never killed anybody, but to think that if I had, I would tell you? Nah)… 😉
L– Last time you cried? NYE.
M– Middle name: Lu.
N– Number of siblings: I got double trouble.
O– One wish: To go back to my old happy self. The genuinely happy one.
P– Person you last called: My daddy-o.
Q– Question you’re always asked: “Where do you put it?” (referring to my constant hunger).
R– Reason to smile:
My cats. Really hot showers.
S– Song last sang: Lana Del Rey’s Ride.
T– Time you woke up: Slept in today (oops), 7:45am.
U– Underwear color: Blue paisley with white lace.
V– Vacation destination: “I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list.” Have you heard of Spirit Spheres, located in Vancouver Island?
W– Worst habit: Deciding to revamp my entire living space at 2 in the morning.
Y– Your favourite food: noodles! rice noodle, egg noodle, thin noodle, flat noodle, udon noodle, soba noodle, all the noodles!
X– X-Rays you’ve done: I can’t be too sure, but I believe I’ve done 5 or so: once from when my mother had my hand x-rayed to check my bone growth stage (she had me checked to see if I’d have any more chances to grow… she’s ridiculous, and I’m fun sized, ok?), once when I fractured my left foot playing rugby in ninth grade phys ed class, and 3 or more from my dentist/orthodontist—I had braces (past tense, thank goodness), and the x-rays were for my teeth.
Z– Zodiac sign: Pisces. I’m a land mermaid.

*disclaimer: this photo is not mine!* It’s from the Interwebs… I am sharing this because, just look! That cartoon looks like me and my cats, Bamboo and Simba! It’s incredible. I think whoever drew this was trying to channel me for inspiration!

With that, I’m off to bed. Good night fellow land mermaids and humans, I’ll chat with you cool cats soon!

    1. Thank you! I was bored, but kind of sleepy, so I felt like just doing a little bit of a self share tonight, before bed time. I can’t stay too mysterious… People might jump to the wrong conclusions! Ha. I’ve updated the post to add my egg in a hole experience! Whooooo! Trying new things. LOL
